...Could you please give me some info. about this cruise. How was the food, activities, Would you go again? What was your experience like on this cruise?
"I am not a fan of Bahamas cruises. First many of the cruises to the Bahamas are short cruises. I prefer a 7 day to a 3-4 day every time.
Secondly I'm not a fan of the Bahamas as a port of call. Freeport is a terrible port with nothing there. They have a straw market which is completely Made In China. No local crafts or anything unique like you see in St Thomas straw markets or even San Juan.
Every straw market had the same sweatshirt, can coozy, and cheap tshirts. The prices were higher than the sweat shirt on the cruise ship. I was shocked that they wanted $60 on the island when it was $45 on the ship. Each stall has the exact same items so I walked around with $30 in my hand til I found someone who would give me the $10 sweatshirt for $30 cash. Then we immediately went back on board after being in Freeport for about 1-2 hrs. Everyone else was getting back on board too.
The best thing I can say about Freeport is that the ship spa is cheaper on days you are in port so it's a great stop to go to the spa.
Nassau is better but still very overpriced to buy anything. The best thing to do there is the day pass to Atlantis.
I don't feel the Bahama ports leave you with a good taste of the Caribbean. It also didn't leave me with a good taste of the island. Many cruises own a private island in the Bahamas which I think gives you a better feeling than the major cities.
Of course the food on any cruise ship is amazing. The newer the ship the better the ship will be as far as decor and activities. My personal opinion about Carnival though is that they put the better crew on the smaller ships. My cruise on the Inspiration was my favorite over the Destiny and the Glory.
The entertainment seems better and the staff more polite.
There is more food than you can imagine. There are more activities than you can imagine. Carnival has something going on every 15 minutes throughout the day. It really helps if you are trying to get out of the sun. Plus Carnival has more night life than many of the older people cruise lines (like Holland).
Personally I'd grab a cruise St Thomas and St Martin instead of the Bahamas unless you really want the 3-4 day cruise."
